I tried to show how difficult it can be when someone who supports you puts pressure on your identity. but you can't get out of that relationship because life outside is so scary. so you keep living in a dysfunctional relationship. this fire in the background symbolizes our burning inside and out, and the pearl in the center of the composition represents our identity and self-identity, which is held and squeezed between the huge stones at the same time.
